What Does “Catechesis” Mean in the Bible?

Classes to learn and live the faith, for example before First Communion.

It can mean

  1. For whom: for children, young people, and adults. It teaches what the Church believes, in an orderly way.
  2. Its goal: to lead people to live the Christian life fully, not just to know things.

Today

In parishes there is catechesis for First Communion, for Confirmation, and for adults preparing for Baptism.

Where it appears in the Bible

Acts 8:31; Luke 1:4

What the Bible says

Acts 8:31
