Tomb
A place in the Bible

A grave. In the time of Jesus, many tombs were caves cut into the rock and closed with a large stone.
What happened here
- The tomb of Jesus: Joseph of Arimathea laid him in a new tomb, hewn out of the rock, and closed it with a large stone.
- On Sunday: Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early in the morning and saw that the stone had been removed. Jesus had risen.
Where it appears in the Bible
John 11:17; John 11:38; Matthew 27:60; John 20:1; Mark 16:6
