Nazareth
A place in the Bible

The town in Galilee where Mary and Joseph lived, and where Jesus grew up.
What happened here
- The Annunciation: there God sent the angel Gabriel to Mary.
- Joseph: Joseph lived in Nazareth. From there he went with Mary to Bethlehem. When they came back from Egypt, the family settled in Nazareth.
- Jesus grew up there: he was obedient to Mary and Joseph. Because he lived there, people called him “the Nazorean.”
- A small town: Nathanael asked if anything good could come from Nazareth. Philip told him, “Come and see.”
