A place in the history of the Church
A city on a hill in Umbria, in Italy. St. Francis was born there.
What happened here
- St. Francis: he was born in Assisi around 1182. His father was a cloth merchant.
- A new life: before the bishop of Assisi, Francis took off his clothes: in this way he gave up his father’s inheritance.
Today
It is still a city of Italy, full of churches in memory of St. Francis.
